Gear up! It’s time to
get your hiking shoes and canteen, because we have a lot of
exploring to do. This is where we start Being Hypatia –
learning, teaching, and discovering together. Like Hypatia
of Alexandria, we will do this with courage, independence, and
a passion for knowledge.

Paying it forward...
hypatia style!
Ok,
fellow visionaries, it’s time to act! Let’s put our shared
vision of inspiring women to be confident without destroying
the confidence of others into practice. Over the next seven
days, we challenge you to pay one genuine compliment to
a woman per day. Make sure your compliment is for “real”! Be
authentic and tell the truth. After all, we know when we are
being paid a genuine compliment… it means so much more. And,
you will benefit, too, by beginning each of those seven days
with the attitude of looking for the best in other women.
Imagine the possibilities and ramifications!
Want to
take it up a notch and really change the world? Ask seven
women you know to accept this challenge, also! Even better,
convince them to, in turn, challenge an additional seven
women. Just think… we can exponentially increase our
potential for supporting one another by becoming the
architects of an entire network of confidence builders.
After
you have tested your complimenting powers for seven days,
take time to reflect on the experience and discuss it with others. How did it make you feel to look for
the positive in women each of those seven days? How did the
recipients of your compliments react? Did other women accept
your challenge?
Oh, and
by the way, if you want to keep it going after seven days, who
are we to stop you? Get complimenting!
